        Tested solution
Direct recommendation: increase water mineral content modestly to around 60 ppm.
Applies to: Cloud Pass 2026 Qingxin / Taiwan high-mountain oolong in a setup close to gaiwan.
Evidence: firsthand test by the questioner on Cloud Pass 2026 Qingxin.
Change: increase water mineral content modestly to around 60 ppm.
Expected effect: stronger aroma definition and slightly firmer structure.
Observed result: body improved but aroma barely changed.
Limitations: If your actual filled volume differs from the stated volume, the ratio may be the bigger issue.
        Commercial relationship: none.

That sounds about right to me. We probably need fewer rules than people think. Moderators should not have to adjudicate whether a joke was funny, only whether somebody is using it as a club.

I would keep the current recipe for another two brews before changing anything. One good cup can be luck; three similar cups is information.

I support this experiment mainly because it does not require buying another shiny cylinder.

A short list would be better than a constitution.

                  Same tea/batch
Direct recommendation: use 85°C water for the first three infusions.
Applies to: Honey Orchid Ridge 2025 Mi Lan Xiang / Phoenix dancong oolong in a setup close to porcelain gaiwan.
Evidence: firsthand use of the same Honey Orchid Ridge 2025 Mi Lan Xiang in a closely matched setup.
Change: use 85°C water for the first three infusions.
Expected effect: softer finish with some aroma loss.
Observed result: not tested on this exact setup yet.
Limitations: My result is from a small number of sessions, so treat it as evidence rather than law.
                  Commercial relationship: none.

The rule against insults is sensible. Fermentation benefits from microbes; discussion does not benefit from every organism available.

I’d vote for the forum. Maybe call it exactly what it is: Classical Indian Music. No clever title required.

Maybe require photos for leaks and puck problems? Half the vocabulary around “spraying” is subjective.

Would it help to require water hardness instead of just water source? That variable can dwarf the recipe.

Congratulations. New containers, clean labels, and everyone promising not to contaminate the culture. I approve of the metaphor more than I should.
