Right, and I’d add one thing. I would mostly lurk, but I want this forum to exist. Yoga as exercise can be discussed without pretending that is the whole history of yoga.
Right, and I’d add one thing. I’d split only when the side discussion becomes useful enough to deserve being found later. The Community forum can probably tolerate more wandering than a practical help thread.
the title should still roughly describe what a reader is going to find. If the original poster asks people to bring it back, that should carry weight.
That is the part I agree with. Moving posts should be about navigation, not punishment.
That sounds about right to me. Please don’t turn ‘stay on topic’ into a personality requirement. The right rule may simply be: move things when doing so makes the forum easier to use.
yes, especially that point. I’d tolerate a lot before moving anything
Yes, that is basically my instinct too. If the detour becomes useful enough that someone might want to find it next week, that is when splitting starts to make sense
The “be decent” rule seems refreshingly complicated enough for me. I can probably remember one rule.
That sounds about right to me. I’d follow this even if I mostly care about practical training. I’d like training injury and recovery questions to stay cautious rather than turn into remote diagnosis.
This definitely has five people
That’s exactly what I mean. I have thousands of photos I’m apparently preserving very carefully so I can never look at them again.
I should probably add that I’m not talking about proper gallery-quality prints. Even just the ordinary little photos people used to have in drawers and stick on the fridge.
I suddenly realised my niece and nephew probably have thousands of photos of themselves and almost none they can physically pick up, which feels slightly strange.
Yes, especially that point. I’d rather tolerate some mess than make everyone write like customer support. Deleting content should be the last tool, not the first
Spam and threats are easy; the gray area is people being persistently awful without using obvious insults. I’d prefer escalating steps: reminder, warning, short cooling-off period, then stronger action if somebody insists
I’m putting in an early vote for a book section with room for both recommendations and people admitting they hated the recommendation afterward. That second part matters.
