I would like to request a Yoga & Dharma forum.

I mean a room broad enough for practice, meditation, philosophy, history, teachers and traditions, but not so broad that every health claim or inspirational sentence becomes “dharma” by default.

There are people here coming from practice, people coming from reading, and people who are skeptical but curious. That combination may actually be useful if we do not spend all our time establishing who is the most authentic person in the room.

If at least four others would participate, please add your vote.

          I’d support a Yoga & Dharma forum.

Yes, this deserves its own room. Maybe no subforums initially. One room will show us what people actually want to discuss.

That sounds useful. count me in. Dharma discussions should not become a contest over who has the most authentic suffering.

I would read this one regularly. Please keep room for ordinary practice questions alongside history and philosophy.

Good, that sounds like enough actual interest to justify the room. I would keep the first version broad and let the threads tell us what needs separating.

I’m interested, especially if practice and philosophy can meet without pretending they are identical.

That is the part I agree with. Good request. A healthy room would let someone say ‘this helped me’ without turning that into ‘this will help everyone’.

Yes, especially that point. I’d use it. Likewise, not every philosophical question needs to become advice about someone’s body.

Five votes should be easy here. I hope the room can tolerate both committed practitioners and skeptical people.

Right, and I’d add one thing. I would mostly lurk, but I want this forum to exist. Yoga as exercise can be discussed without pretending that is the whole history of yoga.

That sounds about right to me. I think it could become one of the more interesting rooms here. Practical meditation questions fit naturally here, provided nobody promises enlightenment by Thursday.
