I tested one change from the opening post and it moved the cup, but did not finish the job. Next variable: increase dose by 0.5 g while keeping water fixed. Why: the present agitation can be creating fines migration and choking the bed. Expected result: less sharpness while keeping roughly the same sweetness. I will report the actual result rather than stack another change on top.
Some of the best parts of forums are accidental.
We need a way to preserve useful detours without making search impossible. Maybe ten or fifteen substantial replies on the new subject is a reasonable signal, not a hard rule.

Five supporters for a new forum is a pleasantly low barrier. I look forward to the inevitable constitutional crisis over whether one person may sign twice under two hats.
Yes, though the title should not promise more than the forum can hold. this forum has my vote. Please keep technique, training methods and history together unless traffic proves we need more.
Yes, though the title should not promise more than the forum can hold. the moderators should intervene in conduct, not taste. No secret rules. If a behavior gets somebody sanctioned, the rest of us should be able to understand the rule.
Yes, especially that point. Light moderation sounds right, but ‘light’ needs a shape. Thread locking should be rare and temporary when possible.
Yes, though the title should not promise more than the forum can hold. the opening rule already covers most of what matters. If someone starts posting the same accusation in five places, that is no longer one disagreement.
A community benefits from being allowed to accumulate its own customs. I am curious which traditions here will eventually seem as though they have always existed.
That sounds about right to me. I’d use it for recommendations and listening questions. The useful part for me would be recommendations with a little explanation of what to listen for.
This deserves its own room rather than being buried in general music.
July 4, 2026 at 9:12 pm in reply to: Rules & regulations: how to format a topic without making everyone guess #4021A solved/confirmed marker would be useful once there are enough repair threads. It would make the first useful answer easier to find.

Michael and Elsa deserve explicit thanks. Invisible labor has an unfortunate tendency to become invisible history as well.
