Yes, that is what I meant. The clock matters, but it is not the whole story

Try listening for one raga across two or three recordings and note where the singer or player settles, then where they refuse to settle. That usually shows the rules better than any mood word. I would also compare the same piece at different times of day, if you can find it.

after that the ‘peaceful’ label gets a bit shy

I am less convinced by the flavour claim than the workflow claim, but that may be because my water is different.

If the answer is another $80 piece of metal I am going back to tea for twelve minutes

spam and threats are easy; the gray area is people being persistently awful without using obvious insults. I’d prefer escalating steps: reminder, warning, short cooling-off period, then stronger action if somebody insists

I’m hoping for the good kind of mess here: useful answers, nonsense in the margins, and somebody knowing exactly the one weird thing you needed.

                  Comparable tea
Direct recommendation: use 85°C water for the first three infusions.
Applies to: Honey Orchid Ridge 2025 Mi Lan Xiang / Phoenix dancong oolong in a setup close to porcelain gaiwan.
Evidence: firsthand experience with Phoenix dancong oolong in a different vessel.
Change: use 85°C water for the first three infusions.
Expected effect: softer finish with some aroma loss.
Observed result: not tested on this exact setup yet.
Limitations: Water chemistry may change the result, so I would not generalize this to every city.
                  Commercial relationship: none.

That is the part I agree with. I’d like somewhere to ask basic questions without hijacking every music thread.

Actually, forget I said that. Five people will absolutely sign the petition for fish.

I will not startle the fish. I cannot make promises about whoever eventually asks whether the fish need their own forum.

Cheers to Michael and Elsa. Moving a community is the kind of job where everyone notices the one crooked sign and nobody notices the hundred things that worked.

New meter installed, water running, nobody has driven over the box yet. By municipal standards this is a luxury opening.
