nah I think the warning label is the whole thing or close to it the cool part is the book never yells about it. It just lets the consequences hang there like a subway ad that keeps staring back at you and that restraint does more than extra lore ever could

Yeah, and the ordinary objects matter a lot too. The porch light, the letters, the little domestic stuff all carry weight here. It’s not empty at all just calm on the surface and busy underneath

I had that with a short story once. Nothing happened and then I realized everything had happened already, just off to the side. weirdly satisfying

i once took a class where the “ancient” sequence had a spotify playlist, so yeah. concrete clues matter more than the incense machine.

for sure, start with who taught who and then follow the names around. it gets less mystical real fast

and sometimes more human, which is the part i like.

i had one teacher who spent ten minutes on a pose and thirty on where he learned it. weirdly useful

made the shape less abstract, anyway.
