      I would pair a recording where the Kambhoji is allowed to unfold slowly with one in which the rhythmic development arrives earlier. The contrast can show how the raga remains itself while the performance gives different weight to patience, ornament and momentum.

      I am not a Carnatic performer, so I would listen for the shape of the phrases before trying to name every detail. A recording that makes you want to hear the return again is probably doing something important.

        I’m interested, especially if practice and philosophy can meet without pretending they are identical. I would like discussions about teachers and lineages to include sources when claims become specific.

          That is the part I agree with. Good request. A healthy room would let someone say ‘this helped me’ without turning that into ‘this will help everyone’.

            I hope expertise here remains invitational rather than theatrical. It is much easier to learn when nobody is performing mastery at you.

              I missed the formal opening, but congratulations. The new space already has the pleasant feeling of an exhibit before all the labels become permanent.
