August 28, 2026 at 12:54 am #4499Machine / revision: Sage Dual Boiler BES920 2024
Country / voltage: United Kingdom / 230V
Grinder / burrs / setting / calibration: DF64 Gen 2; stock 64 mm flat burrs; 9 on my collar; chirp point marked with tape.
Basket / portafilter: stock double basket; stock portafilter with double spout (58 mm system where applicable).
Bean / roast date: Colombia Huila medium roast; roast date 2026-08-20.
Dose / yield / extraction time: 18.0 g in, 40 g out, 31 s target/current reference.
Water / temperature: bottled low-mineral water, about 55 ppm TDS; 93°C.
Exact symptom: Looking for ownership evidence: failures, maintenance, annoying wear items and what still feels good after sustained use.
Tests already performed: Checked serial/revision, service history, consumables replaced and approximate shot count.
Diagnostic photograph or video: counter-space photo plus a 20-second workflow clip.Owners who have actually lived with the Sage Dual Boiler BES920 2024: what changed after the first few months? I am more interested in repairs and habits than launch-day enthusiasm.

My long-term cost was mostly consumables and one wear part, not a catastrophic repair. The bigger question is whether service is convenient where you live.

I came here to save money and now I know what burr touch means. This has gone badly.

The Sage Dual Boiler BES920 2024 has been reliable for me, but “reliable” still includes cleaning, seals and the occasional stupid little part. I would buy it again with a maintenance budget.

my technical contribution is that “one last upgrade” is not a measurable quantity

Ask used sellers for a cold-start video, a pressure/flow demonstration and a photo of the label/revision. A polished exterior tells you almost nothing.

I would separate “still works” from “still pleasant to own.” The Sage Dual Boiler BES920 2024 can pass the first test while losing the second.

I came here to save money and now I know what burr touch means. This has gone badly. Coffee remains cheaper than therapy, allegedly.
