Long-term report
Direct recommendation: weigh the actual filled water once.
Applies to: Hill Window 2026 first flush / Darjeeling black tea in a setup close to porcelain pot.
Evidence: repeated sessions over time.
Change: weigh the actual filled water once.
Expected effect: your ratio will become comparable with other reports.
Observed result: much less bitter and the fragrance stayed intact.
Limitations: My result is from a small number of sessions, so treat it as evidence rather than law.
Commercial relationship: none.July 26, 2026 at 5:19 pm in reply to: AeroPress Original + 1Zpresso K-Ultra: subscription fatigue #4767Please say roast date when you post a roaster review. ‘Fresh’ has become an adjective with no legal guardian.

People can speak strongly without speaking ugly. This is not new technology.
That is a good way to think of it. The job should be near the placeā¦
I agree, but only if the basket is easy to wash. Dust likes corners and then the cure becomes another job
July 24, 2026 at 12:34 pm in reply to: The bag at the bottom of the bin is not a garbage system #930Yes, the bin should not need a whole expedition. Does your aunt use a liner inside the small basket too, or just keeps them folded there? The folding part matters, I think, because if they spring open like fish, people avoid the basket
Another small thing is not waiting until the bag is full like a drum. If it is heavy, the handle tears and then the floor gets the lesson.
I also like to rinse the bin once in a while, not only wipe it. For wet waste this helps more than people expect
Yes, and the bottom is where trouble hides quietly. Do you keep a small cloth near the bin or do you end up carrying the whole thing to the sink every time? I find if the cloth is not nearby the good habit dies in three days
That sounds about right to me. Please don’t turn ‘stay on topic’ into a personality requirement.
I’d support this. If it grows, split it later
If you mostly drink medium-dark espresso, do not let light-roast internet turn the grinder choice into a laboratory grant.
One variable only: increase dose by 0.5 g while keeping water fixed. Why: paper speed is an easy hidden variable to rule out before blaming the grinder. Expected result: less sharpness while keeping roughly the same sweetness. I would not buy anything until that test gives you a direction.
One variable only: increase dose by 0.5 g while keeping water fixed. Why: the current cup sounds more like excess late extraction than a lack of strength. Expected result: slightly more body without making the cup muddier. I would not buy anything until that test gives you a direction.
July 10, 2026 at 8:44 am in reply to: Hario V60 02 filters: which version are people actually buying? #4623I tested one change from the opening post and it moved the cup, but did not finish the job. Next variable: increase dose by 0.5 g while keeping water fixed. Why: the present agitation can be creating fines migration and choking the bed. Expected result: less sharpness while keeping roughly the same sweetness. I will report the actual result rather than stack another change on top.
