the coin story is basically the poster child for this
it gets where it’s going and then leaves
rude, efficient, good
bear is still the one i’d send someone first though
if they don’t like that voice they’re probably not going to enjoy being trapped in here for 200 pages
Friendship Utilizing Cumulative Knowledge was awful
compliment
and yeah one permissions list could probably stop two items earlier. once i got the joke i started waiting for the period
lol i liked the extra ones
that story told me pretty early it had no intention of behaving and after that i was happy to let it become a public safety problem
taste thing maybe
Pétanque made me laugh a lot and also made me think “this is probably one paragraph too long”
problem is i can’t tell you which paragraph because every candidate has a line i like
very irritating editorial situation
Public posts can show one useful thing: what someone does when another person tells them no. That is probably more informative than a polished application.
Wing Z was one of the funniest for me and also one of the few where i thought ok maybe lose 5 percent
not a whole section. just a couple places where i already knew what kind of argument was coming next
the voice is great though. very committed to being wrong in exactly the right way

heat does not care about your feelingsAugust 11, 2026 at 11:16 pm in reply to: Onion browning times in curry recipes: am I missing something? #1569yeah if the onions go in after the aromatics its usually a speedrun version. if they start first then the recipe wants more patience, maybe not actual brown but close enough

five people can spawn a whole forum is a game mechanic somebody is 100% going to abuse
August 10, 2026 at 11:44 pm in reply to: Onion browning times in curry recipes: am I missing something? #1546probably the onion clue, yeah. if they say onions plus ginger garlic right away then it’s usually not a full brown situation
August 10, 2026 at 9:55 pm in reply to: Onion browning times in curry recipes: am I missing something? #1544yeah, that wording is probably the whole trick. I think some recipes mean just cook off the raw bite and get a little color, not full on browned onions
August 10, 2026 at 12:26 pm in reply to: Onion browning times in curry recipes: am I missing something? #1536nah you are not missing much. A lot of recipes are just being vague and calling golden onions brown because it sounds faster. If the heat is low enough to keep them from burning then five minutes is nowhere near deep browning. Fragment of truth, then a lie by stopwatch
Right, and I’d add one thing. I’d split only when the side discussion becomes useful enough to deserve being found later.
