wait, one cheap thing nobody has said yet is grind distribution. if the C40 has even a little more fines than usual, a Clever can taste sharp up top and then just kind of vanish after, which feels rude honestly. i’d do one brew at 23 clicks and one at 25 before buying anything, same water same dose, just to see if the cup gets less hollow. also maybe skip the fancy fix until the bed shape stops looking weird lol

Keep everything else exactly where it is for one brew.

This is where a cheap measurement beats another theory. Record the same test twice before and twice after the change.
I came here to save money and now I know what burr touch means. This has gone badly.
