It is not intimate in the same way as a small English choir, but the voices have these hard edges and open spaces that make “beautiful” feel a little dangerous.
I also like hearing the breath and the almost-not-together moments. Perfect sound can make a choir feel like one giant object, and I want to hear the people inside it.
