Yes, that is a sane way to practice. You can treat the body of yoga as useful without signing onto every metaphysical claim attached to it. I do that with a lot of traditions, honestly, and it seems safer than pretending certainty where I do not have it
That is the point where the sticker does more work than the sleeve
not glamorous, but useful
That is a useful distinction, and probably why some records need a second chance. The jacket is not the work, but it sure can act like a bouncer.
I have bought more than one album just because the clerk talked me through the bad art and saved me from judging too fast.
The worst ones are almost professional about it. Nothing is more suspicious than a cover that tries very hard and still loses.
good advice, honestly
Clutter is the killer here. Clean ugly can be memorable, but clutter just makes you tired.
Both if they are shameless enough. Gatefolds can really commit to the bit.
Hospital light is a pretty strong visual review
I know exactly the kind of cover you mean.
Usually clutter. Too many ideas, none of them getting vetoed.
That distinction is very church-bulletin of you.
Unfortunately accurate.

I have to go with half the late 70s budget prog sleeves. Great record, looks like the band assembled at a copy shop after midnight.
I still recommend the music, obviously, but I warn people not to judge by the jacket unless they want the wrong lesson.
A good practical test is to tap the underlying pulse only after the drum starts, then compare that to what you felt during the alap. If the pulse was already there in your body, the tala was prepared, just not labeled yet.
One small correction: the pakhawaj is not always the first rhythmic section in every dhrupad performance, but when it comes in it does reframe the listening…
