A little drift makes people feel like people.

        Original-poster update
Direct recommendation: repeat the session with 110 ppm filtered tap.
Applies to: Apricot Grove 2025 Ya Shi Xiang / Phoenix dancong in a setup close to porcelain gaiwan.
Evidence: follow-up on the author’s own Apricot Grove 2025 Ya Shi Xiang.
Change: repeat the session with 110 ppm filtered tap.
Expected effect: the cup should move toward understand which mineral level suits this tea if that variable is causal.
Observed result: tap water produced more aroma and body but slightly more dryness.
Limitations: My result is from a small number of sessions, so treat it as evidence rather than law.
        Commercial relationship: none.

My contribution is that Apricot Grove 2025 Ya Shi Xiang sounds like a tea and also a minor railway station.

That sounds about right to me. A separate room would keep the general forum from becoming forty percent stance arguments.

I still print some. Not many, but family photographs especially.

A file is very good for storing a photograph and surprisingly bad at making anybody look at it again. I have boxes from thirty years ago that people still open. Nobody has ever asked to browse my backup drive after dinner.

Direct recommendation: add a 20-second rest after the rinse before the first infusion.
Applies to: Old Brick Courtyard 2022 shou / ripe puer in a setup close to gaiwan.
Evidence: side-by-side or repeated one-variable test.
Change: add a 20-second rest after the rinse before the first infusion.
Expected effect: more even extraction and a slower falloff.
Observed result: not tested on this exact setup yet.
Limitations: This may not transfer to a heavier roast or a very different vessel size.
                    Commercial relationship: none.

Right, and I’d add one thing. I’d keep the threshold for deletion high. If two people are arguing hard but still answering each other, I would leave them alone.

Limitations: If your actual filled volume differs from the stated volume, the ratio may be the bigger issue.
