Not the exact revision, but I had a closely related setup with the same general failure mode. The thing that saved time was separating the DF54 / puck-prep side from the machine side instead of adjusting both together. Similar experience, not proof for your unit.

That matters, because the book is not pretending to be a transcript.August 2, 2026 at 9:38 pm in reply to: Lincoln in the Bardo is a crowd that cannot agree on the dead #1310If you want a practical next step, compare it with one chapter at a time instead of reading straight through. The quotations and the ghost chatter work differently on the page, so a slower pass may help. Also, do not assume the historical bits are there to explain the plot; they are part of the pressure.
Inference only: because the symptom is repeatable and your listed tests already rule out some obvious causes, I would suspect the narrowest remaining mechanical/setup path before a board-level failure. I would not buy a part from that inference alone.
The cat analogy is doing too much work, but I understand the point
One small follow-up: repeat the test from a cold start once. Heat can hide or create a fault, and “it worked five minutes later” is useful information.
July 29, 2026 at 12:39 am in reply to: Can someone explain this puck before I invent a theory? #4197If you can post the short video mentioned in the opening block, the sound/flow pattern may separate a normal Lelit Mara X V2 2024 noise from the fault you are describing.

The useful documented check is the revision-specific maintenance/service sequence, not a generic espresso-machine video. For Flair 58+ 2025, verify the manual procedure and part number before opening or ordering anything. If the documented test does not reproduce the fault, stop treating that subsystem as proven.
July 27, 2026 at 11:25 pm in reply to: Can someone explain this puck before I invent a theory? #4185I had a similar issue but not the same revision. Mine ended up being embarrassingly simple, so I would keep the easy checks alive until the evidence kills them.

Applies to which model/revision: Lelit Mara X V2 2024.
Likely cause: The symptom points first to a setup, wear-part or calibration issue that can be separated from a major failure.
Test to perform next: Return one variable to a known reference, repeat twice, and record whether the symptom changes in the same direction.
Expected result: If that subsystem is the cause, the symptom should change predictably rather than randomly.
Safety limit: Do not chase the shot with unsafe pressure/temperature modifications; return to stock limits if diagnosis becomes uncertain.
Evidence: First-hand owner experience with the same model/configuration; not a manufacturer diagnosis.July 26, 2026 at 3:05 am in reply to: AeroPress Original + 1Zpresso K-Ultra: subscription fatigue #4762Please say roast date when you post a roaster review. ‘Fresh’ has become an adjective with no legal guardian.
July 25, 2026 at 7:39 am in reply to: AeroPress Original + 1Zpresso K-Ultra: subscription fatigue #4754Recent Netherlands report: my last order arrived within the normal window for domestic/import delivery and the roast date was recent enough that I still rested it before brewing. The useful part was consistency across two bags, not one spectacular cup.
I note that the five-person rule contains no definition of “person behind a topic.” I trust nobody here will make me draft one.
Controlled test
Direct recommendation: repeat the session with five short steeps.
Applies to: Autumn Barn 2023 Gong Mei / white tea in a setup close to porcelain gaiwan.
Evidence: side-by-side or repeated one-variable test.
Change: repeat the session with five short steeps.
Expected effect: the cup should move toward see whether short steeps produce meaningfully better tea if that variable is causal.
Observed result: not tested on this exact setup yet.
Limitations: If your actual filled volume differs from the stated volume, the ratio may be the bigger issue.
Commercial relationship: none. -
