I look for trouble, mostly. Not spectacle. If a scene has two people who can still breathe, still think, and still choose wrong under pressure, it feels closer to real life.

Also, the space matters. Who is near the wall, who got turned around, who is tired enough to reach for the same hand twice. That sort of thing tells the truth faster than a neat line of dramatic dialogue.

If everybody is clean and clever for too long, I stop believing it. Real scraps leave marks, and they usually leave somebody annoyed.

I keep the paper list next to the door. For anything important I tie it to a lock-up routine, so when I check the door I see the note too.

The reminder has to be where the hand already goes. Otherwise it is just another thing to forget.

Yep, that is the honest breakdown of it. The all-plastic ones look neat until you actually use them, then the latch starts acting tired after a few openings like it has somewhere better to be

I disagree a little. loose works until the bundle shifts and the whole thing starts sagging again, which is almost as annoying

That tracks. over-tightening is the fast way to wear out the latch and the cable jacket both, which is a tidy little double bill

I usually tell people snug enough to hold, not crushed flat, and then leave it alone.

Fair point, cable tie is doing a lot of work there. Still cheaper than buying a new desk because the old one got swallowed by wires

Mostly power and video cables then, or little USB stuff too? The thicker the bundle the more the closure matters

Velcro usually stays usable longer, but it gets bulky if you are bundling a lot of lines.
Still beats a latch that quits after a few pulls, which is just rude.
