I think that is the useful distinction. New people need to know what they are being judged on. Rotating volunteers seems healthier than one permanent person deciding who belongs.
This is much better than a quiz. A quiz selects for people who are good at quizzes, which is not currently one of our social goals.
I’d volunteer for a rotation. Emphasis on rotation. I enjoy all of you but not enough to become border control.

My long-term cost was mostly consumables and one wear part, not a catastrophic repair. The bigger question is whether service is convenient where you live.
May this become the kind of place where people wander in for one answer and accidentally stay because they recognize the names.

In my work I see how much a person can learn from simply noticing breath, posture and tension, but that does not require me to say every sensation is a message from the universe.
For me the tradition is still useful when I treat it as a history of practices rather than a package where I must accept every explanation. Some days the practice is just staying with one breath and not turning it into a performance.
I have nothing useful except sympathy and a strong suspicion the machine can smell fear
Recent Singapore report: my last order arrived within the normal window for domestic/import delivery and the roast date was recent enough that I still rested it before brewing. The useful part was consistency across two bags, not one spectacular cup.
