Machine / revision: ECM Classika PID 2024
        Country / voltage: United Kingdom / 230V
Grinder / burrs / setting / calibration: Niche Zero; stock conical burrs; 15 on the espresso scale; calibration dot aligned.
Basket / portafilter: stock double basket; stock spouted portafilter (58 mm system where applicable).
Bean / roast date: Costa Rica Tarrazú medium roast; roast date 2026-08-20.
        Dose / yield / extraction time: 18.0 g in, 36 g out, 28 s target/current reference.
Water / temperature: filtered tap, about 80 ppm hardness; 92°C.
Exact symptom: Looking for ownership evidence: failures, maintenance, annoying wear items and what still feels good after sustained use.
Tests already performed: Checked serial/revision, service history, consumables replaced and approximate shot count.
Diagnostic photograph or video: counter-space photo plus a 20-second workflow clip.

Owners who have actually lived with the ECM Classika PID 2024: what changed after the first few months? I am more interested in repairs and habits than launch-day enthusiasm.

I have nothing useful except sympathy and a strong suspicion the machine can smell fear.

My long-term cost was mostly consumables and one wear part, not a catastrophic repair. The bigger question is whether service is convenient where you live.

I would separate “still works” from “still pleasant to own.” The ECM Classika PID 2024 can pass the first test while losing the second.

The ECM Classika PID 2024 has been reliable for me, but “reliable” still includes cleaning, seals and the occasional stupid little part. I would buy it again with a maintenance budget.

I came here to save money and now I know what burr touch means. This has gone badly

Ask used sellers for a cold-start video, a pressure/flow demonstration and a photo of the label/revision. A polished exterior tells you almost nothing.

For what it is worth, i vote we rename channeling “espresso weather” and move on.

The Niche Zero looks innocent but I have seen this movie before

For what it is worth, at this point the ECM Classika PID 2024 has more accessories than my car

What changed after the first year was not cup quality, it was tolerance for the workflow. The small annoyances become more informative than the specifications.
