Vendor/order report
Direct recommendation: repeat the session with Shanlinxi and Lishan.
Applies to: Qingxin trio: Alishan / Shanlinxi / Lishan 2026 / Taiwan oolong comparison in a setup close to three identical 90 ml cupping gaiwans.
Evidence: completed order/report with dates and destination disclosed.
Change: repeat the session with Shanlinxi and Lishan.
Expected effect: the cup should move toward separate region differences from brewing differences if that variable is causal.
Observed result: not tested on this exact setup yet.
Limitations: If your actual filled volume differs from the stated volume, the ratio may be the bigger issue.
Commercial relationship: none.August 10, 2026 at 10:19 am in reply to: Same cultivar, three mountains, surprisingly little agreement #5332Same tea/batch

There’s always a hidden texture to it, isn’t there?
Right, the flapper is usually the small drama here. A tank can lose a surprising amount of water through a tired flapper and nobody notices except the water bill, which is the least poetic witness possible.
Do you know if the tank is old enough for one of those adjustable fill valves?
The brick thing has the vibe of a hack taught by someone who has never had to replace the thing later. Very folk wisdom, very “trust me, kid.”
I’d start with the float, or just use less water in the tank if the design allows it. Old houses…
