Grinder, burr and calibration: Fellow Ode Gen 2; Gen 2 flat burrs; 5.1; chirp point checked
Bean, roaster, process and roast date: Kenya Nyeri AA; Square Mile; washed; roast date 2026-07-24
Dose and water mass: 18.0 g coffee; 300 g water
Temperature and water profile: 93°C; remineralized RO, about 60 ppm GH / 25 ppm KH
Pour/agitation schedule: 63 g bloom for 40 s, then three pours; no stirring after bloom

Expected and perceived flavour: expected caramel and stone fruit; perceived cup is sweet but slightly muddy
Changes already tested: tested one brew with remineralized water while keeping the recipe fixedThis is a real purchase question, not an invitation to name every product in the category. I care about the workflow in the title and would love reports from people who lived with both options.

I had both on the counter at the same time. In blind cups the gap was smaller than the internet had prepared me for. Cleanup, noise and how often I had to correct the setting mattered more by month three.

Used both daily, not just side by side for a weekend. If you value fast setup I would pick the first; if you enjoy adjusting every variable the second earns its extra fuss. Neither made bad beans interesting.

I only own one of the two, so weight this below the dual-owner reports. Mine has been consistent and easy to clean, but I cannot tell you whether the other one would be better in the same kitchen.
