Machine / revision: Rancilio Silvia V6 with PID
        Country / voltage: Germany / 230V
Grinder / burrs / setting / calibration: Eureka Mignon Specialita; stock 55 mm flat burrs; about 2.0 turns from burr touch; dial position photographed.
Basket / portafilter: 18 g IMS precision basket; bottomless portafilter (58 mm system where applicable).
Bean / roast date: Peru Cajamarca medium roast; roast date 2026-07-05.
        Dose / yield / extraction time: 19.0 g in, 38 g out, 30 s target/current reference.
Water / temperature: filter-jug water from moderately hard tap; factory brew temperature after a 10-minute preheat.
Exact symptom: I am deciding whether this grinder is a sensible match for the machine and roast/workflow rather than just technically capable.
Tests already performed: Compared dose workflow, noise, retention, adjustment style, local price and the current grinder’s limits.
Diagnostic photograph or video: close-up of the basket/puck plus a short flow video.

I am trying to match the grinder to the way I actually use the Rancilio Silvia V6 with PID: normal mornings, occasional bean changes, and no desire to perform a ritual before work. I am aware this may end with me buying something I did not know existed yesterday.
