        Machine / revision: Flair 58+ 2025
        Country / voltage: United States / 120V
Grinder / burrs / setting / calibration: Timemore Sculptor 064S; stock 64 mm flat burrs; 4 on the espresso range; zero point checked cold.
Basket / portafilter: stock double basket; bottomless portafilter (58 mm system where applicable).
Bean / roast date: Guatemala Huehuetenango medium roast; roast date 2026-07-12.
        Dose / yield / extraction time: 18.0 g in, 40 g out, 31 s target/current reference.
Water / temperature: bottled low-mineral water, about 55 ppm TDS; 93°C.
Exact symptom: I am deciding whether this grinder is a sensible match for the machine and roast/workflow rather than just technically capable.
Tests already performed: Compared dose workflow, noise, retention, adjustment style, local price and the current grinder’s limits.
Diagnostic photograph or video: counter-space photo plus a 20-second workflow clip.

I can already hear the answer “spend more on the grinder,” but I would like somebody to put a ceiling on that sentence. This is for the Flair 58+ 2025, not a café.

The Timemore Sculptor 064S makes sense if you value repeatable adjustment and can live with its workflow. I would not buy it just because the burr size is easier to brag about.

The Timemore Sculptor 064S looks innocent but I have seen this movie before.

Keep some budget for a scale and decent basket before treating the Timemore Sculptor 064S as the only variable.

Please stop posting clean drip trays. Some of us are trying to live honestly

If you mostly drink medium-dark espresso, do not let light-roast internet turn the grinder choice into a laboratory grant.

i have nothing useful except sympathy and a strong suspicion the machine can smell fear.

For the Flair 58+ 2025, the useful question is whether you single-dose, switch beans and care about noise. Those differences will show up more often than tiny cup differences.

My technical contribution is that “one last upgrade” is not a measurable quantity.

I used a cheaper grinder first and the upgrade was obvious mostly in repeatability. The machine did not magically become better; I just stopped fighting yesterday’s setting.

If the answer is another $80 piece of metal I am going back to tea for twelve minutes.
