August 19, 2026 at 1:33 am #4917Brewer and filter: Hario V60 02 ceramic; Cafec Abaca 02
Grinder, burr and calibration: Timemore Sculptor 078; 078 turbo burrs; setting 8; touch point checked
Bean, roaster, process and roast date: Peru Cajamarca decaf; local specialty roaster; EA decaf; roast date 2026-08-12
Dose and water mass: 20.0 g coffee; 340 g water
Temperature and water profile: 94°C; filtered tap water, about 85 ppm TDS
Pour/agitation schedule: single continuous main pour after a 45 s bloom; one small excavation with spoon only if dry pockets remain
Drawdown time: 4:10
Expected and perceived flavour: expected caramel and stone fruit; perceived cup is sweet but slightly muddy
Changes already tested: tested one brew with remineralized water while keeping the recipe fixedI can read specifications myself. What I cannot tell from specifications is which difference survives six months of daily use. If you owned both, please lead with that and tell me what actually changed in the cup or workflow.

Owned both for more than six months. The difference that survived the honeymoon was workflow, not cup quality. One is easier to repeat when half awake; the other gives more room to fiddle. I kept the simpler one

Used both daily, not just side by side for a weekend. If you value fast setup I would pick the first; if you enjoy adjusting every variable the second earns its extra fuss. Neither made bad beans interesting.

I only own one of the two, so weight this below the dual-owner reports. Mine has been consistent and easy to clean, but I cannot tell you whether the other one would be better in the same kitchen
