August 30, 2026 at 6:25 pm #4962Brewer and filter: AeroPress Original; AeroPress paper
Grinder, burr and calibration: Timemore Sculptor 078; 078 turbo burrs; setting 8; touch point checked
Bean, roaster, process and roast date: Rwanda Gitesi; Coffee Collective; washed; roast date 2026-08-06
Dose and water mass: 18.0 g coffee; 279 g water
Temperature and water profile: 92°C; Brita-filtered tap water, about 110 ppm TDS
Pour/agitation schedule: 60 g bloom for 45 s, then pulse pours roughly every 30 s to 279 g
Drawdown time: 3:20
Expected and perceived flavour: expected berry sweetness; perceived cup is sharp at first and hollow as it cools
Changes already tested: tested one brew with remineralized water while keeping the recipe fixedI can read specifications myself. What I cannot tell from specifications is which difference survives six months of daily use. If you owned both, please lead with that and tell me what actually changed in the cup or workflow.

Used both daily, not just side by side for a weekend. If you value fast setup I would pick the first; if you enjoy adjusting every variable the second earns its extra fuss. Neither made bad beans interesting.

I only own one of the two, so weight this below the dual-owner reports. Mine has been consistent and easy to clean, but I cannot tell you whether the other one would be better in the same kitchen.
