About Me

My first book, Nothing to See, was published five years ago.
Pedestrian Gods is my first collection of short fiction.
It contains stories in which the impossible takes an interest in ordinary people, who meet it with denial, irritation, or the wrong kind of confidence.

Apropos: I am the father of two daughters.


Five Fun facts, and one lie:

I love ales, especially barley wines, which are basically thick liquid bread designed to knock you flat on your back.
When I die of liver failure it will probably take the doctors five hours just to get the smile off my face.

I can recite the entire film “And Now for Something Completely Different” word for word, a feat that is only appreciated by other people who can recite the entire film “And Now for Something Completely Different” word for word

My parallel parking genius is wasted on a guy that never owned a car.

The kitchen is where I go to avoid adulting.

I used to street fight and was never beaten… until five guys in Thailand jumped me because they thought I stole a Coke. I didn’t. I walked away with 32 stitches and a broken pinky toe. Turns out “I didn’t take your soda” is not a recognized self-defense technique. Not in Thai anyway. I retired undefeated in every fight that mattered and thoroughly defeated in the one that counted.
