Rechargeable bike lights that actually last?

Need a new front light. Don’t need an app, GPS or anything clever, just something bright enough for unlit roads and that doesn’t lose half the battery after six months.

Yes, and I’d add get one with a replaceable strap or mount. That’s where mine usually fails first, not the battery. Funny how the little plastic part is always the traitor.

I disagree a little there. The battery usually survives better than the cheap cable does.
The cable is the real weak point, and then people blame the light like it offended them personally.

I’ve had better luck with lights using replaceable cells. Battery starts getting weak, change the cell instead of throwing the whole light out. Less clever, lasts longer.

Small correction the battery usually does not just vanish after six months unless it is stored flat or cooked in a hot shed.

The mount and the charging port fail first on a lot of these, which is annoying because that is the cheap part people never brag about.

I bought one for my brother last year and it still holds charge after messy weekend rides.
He only complains when he forgets to top it up and then acts betrayed by physics. The light itself has been decent though, no drama so far.

I’d buy one with a simple battery gauge and no fancy modes. The bright turbo setting is mostly marketing and it burns the charge fast.

For real dark roads you want steady output more than a flashlight that screams for ten minutes.
